In today’s world we are always comparing ourselves to the people around us. We look at other people and judge ourselves based on them. How they look, the things they have, the accomplishments they’ve made.

The truth is the only person you should be comparing yourself to is who you were yesterday. You don’t know other people’s stories, and you need to focus on creating your own.

Make goals for yourself, and take baby steps to get there. Don’t try to take giant leaps to get there or you will be discouraged. For example, if you want to run a marathon don’t try to run twenty miles tomorrow. Start small with a reasonable goals, like a half mile, so you’re small accomplishments act as a fuel to get you to your final goal.

Lastly, and most importantly, don’t tell yourself you can’t. You can. We all make excuses, but the truth is there is nothing we can’t do. All we have to do is set our mindframe to “I can” and we will get to what we want.

On this episode of Redefining Wealth, Patrice explains the power of no comparison. She analyzes ways we hold ourselves back, and what we can do to overcome our biggest obstacle: ourselves.

Download this episode today and learn how you can start changing your mindset and get on track to making your goals into a reality.

I loved this podcast. I took away that your words have power and that be committed to your process.

Since I work in the social media space, it was a helpful reminder to not compare myself to others (the glimpses that they share of their lives).

I resonated with the words you say to yourself impacting your life. Being in a doctoral program it is difficult to encourage myself at times. However, I have to remember that God did not bring me this far to fail. Thank you for this amazing episode!!

As an emerging entrepreneur it’s so easy to compare my humbled beginnings to someone else’s progress of being 5, 6, 7 years in the business. So right now starting today I’m going to stop comparing myself to other business owners no matter their level. It’s crazy how I don’t compare myself personally but do it professionally as it relates to my business.

(snapping fingers) yes, yes and yes! Ok, so I have a blog that I absolutely obsessed with. When I initially wanted to start my blog, I knew there were thousands and thousands of lifestyle and inspirational blogs out there that were successful, how can I make mine different. I made sure I zoned into persona of my reader and I what I had to offer them stood out. Listening to this podcast made me realize that I was taking the right baby steps to get to the adult steps!

OMG! This one here really hit home for me. I didn’t realize just how much comparing I do until I heard this podcast. It caused me to pay more attention to what I’m allowing to hold me back, and comparison was in the mix. After hearing the podcast, I’m now more mindful of it and will literally say to myself, “the power of no comparison”. Thank you so much for stepping into the podcast world!

I’ve had a hard time not comparing myself to my peers especially because my immediate circle are making money moves. This episode really hit home for me. After listening to this episode, I made a list of things that I have been putting off and decided to live in my own truth. I am not in competition with anyone except myself.

Comparison is the theft of joy. This episode helped reaffirm that I can’t compare myself to what others are doing. We are all running our own race. I have continue to strive to be better than I was yesterday.
