What if the reason something feels off in your life isn’t failure… but misalignment?
In this episode of the Redefining Wealth Podcast, Patrice Washington unpacks what alignment really means — not as a buzzword, but as structure. When your life aligns with who you truly are and what you value, things move differently. There is more clarity, ease, and peace.
Misalignment rarely arrives loudly.
It begins quietly.
A feeling that something isn’t quite right.
Decisions that feel heavier than they should.
A life that looks successful on paper… but feels disconnected in your soul.
At Redefining Wealth, wealth has never been defined by money alone. The original definition of wealth is the condition of wellbeing and happiness — and that requires alignment across every part of life.
In this episode, Patrice introduces The Anatomy of Alignment, a framework for recognizing misalignment sooner so you can shift before burnout, frustration, or resentment take over.Alignment moves through four areas of the body: head, heart, gut, and gait.
Head: Identity and Vision
Alignment begins in the mind.
Who you believe you are shapes the decisions you make. If you identify as overwhelmed, incapable, or bad with money, your actions will reinforce those beliefs.
Alignment in the head means paying attention to what you take in — what you watch, what you listen to, and the words you speak about yourself. Your thoughts shape your identity, and your identity shapes your actions.
Without a clear vision for your life, there is nothing to align to.
Heart: Integrity and Emotional Truth
While the head sets direction, the heart reveals truth.
Your heart often recognizes misalignment before your mind admits it. When something is aligned, there is calm and lightness. When it isn’t, you feel heaviness, irritation, or emotional exhaustion.
The heart reveals when you are staying too long, shrinking to belong, or convincing yourself you are fine when you’re not.
As Patrice says, drainage is data. Frustration may be an invitation to take inventory of what no longer serves you.
Gut: Intuition and Discernment
The gut is where instinct lives.
Before logic begins to rationalize, your nervous system often already knows whether something is right or wrong for you. That tightness in your chest, uneasiness in your stomach, or sudden drop in energy are signals worth listening to.
Learning to trust your intuition helps you make decisions that support your wellbeing instead of overriding it.
Gait: How You Walk It Out
When your head, heart, and gut are aligned, your gait changes.
Your decisions become clearer.
Your confidence grows.
Your life begins to reflect the vision you say you want.
But when those parts are disconnected, confusion shows up in how you move through the world. As Patrice explains, many people don’t have a motivation problem — they have a coordination problem between their thoughts, emotions, intuition, and actions.
The Six Pillars Protect Alignment
This is why the Six Pillars of Wealth exist. They provide the structure needed to protect alignment across every part of life.
FIT (Health & Wellness) — Energy, nervous system regulation, emotional resilience
PEOPLE (Relationships) — Boundaries, belonging, honest connection
SPACE (Environment) — The physical environments shaping your peace and focus
FAITH (Belief & Conviction) — Trust in your calling and inner guidance
WORK (Purpose) — Aligning your contribution with who you truly are
MONEY (Finances) — Financial decisions that support your vision rather than drain it
When one pillar falls out of alignment, the others begin compensating. Over time, that imbalance leads to confusion, burnout, and frustration.
But when the pillars work together, they create the infrastructure that allows your life to move with clarity and momentum.
